William Davies
Managing Director & Founder
William started his career as a financial manager in the banking sector with HSBC moving on to helping raise funds for UK listed companies primarily focusing on the UK residential and commercial property sector before moving his focus to the development of assets within the renewable and sustainable energy sector. William is an experienced investment manager who has for and over the course of the last five years been involved in successfully raising first round funding for and on behalf of third-party entities in respect of energy projects in the United Kingdom and overseas whilst overseeing the development and funding of Terra Firma Energy’s portfolio of projects.
Tim Emrich
Senior Advisor
Tim co-founded UK Power Reserve Ltd (UKPR) in February 2009, UKPR grew to 153 employees, 32 power plants, and 533MW of installed assets across England and Wales, with 500MW of further growth through to its successful sale to Sembcorp in May 2018 for £340m. Having grown UKPR to the single largest flexible distributed power generator in the UK Tim brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the management team at Terra Firma Energy. Prior to entering the energy sector Tim worked for President Bill Clinton at the White House, as a presidential scheduler, and continued managing the paid-speaking engagements portion of President Clinton’s post-presidential life.
Richard Meakin

With over 30 years of expertise in financial control and compliance across diverse companies and international settings, Richard possesses a wealth of experience. His career in the finance sector has seen him provide leadership and direction to crucial areas such as controller management, treasury operations, shareholder relations, accounting practises, tax compliance, and internal auditing. Throughout his journey, Richard has consistently steered the organisations he has collaborated with towards their growth objectives, ensuring alignment with client and investor anticipations. His extensive knowledge and dedication have been instrumental in fostering success in these vital financial functions.
Zach Dodds-Brown
Project Development Director
Before joining Terra Firma, Zach served in the British Army for 12 years, with operational deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. As a commander of multinational teams in challenging, hostile environments, he developed expertise in managing complex situations with diverse teams, including those with linguistic and disciplinary differences. At Terra Firma, Zach has been able to apply his skillset and energy to projects, bringing valuable experience to the team. His ability to manage complex situations and diverse teams is a great asset to the company.
Richard McCarron
Technical Manager
Richard is a Chartered Electrical Engineer with over 20 years’ experience of successfully delivering energy infrastructure projects. Focused primarily on the UK market he has managed the build to a value of over £200 million worth of works across a wide range of industries including Utility Scale Renewables, Nuclear, Petro-Chemical, Offshore, Transmission and Distribution Networks.
With a vast experience in delivering projects to tight timeframes and specific outage constraints, Richard excels in managing project risk to ensure delivery on time and within budget.
Tom Hornsby
Project Manager
Tom is a highly skilled electrical engineer with over 13 years of experience in the UK power and distribution industry. Initially specialising in the refurbishment, testing and commissioning of transformers, he has since honed his skills to focus on delivering flexible generation projects that are completed on time and within budget. With a degree in electrical engineering, Tom’s technical expertise and deep understanding of the industry have been invaluable to the successful delivery of various projects. His ability to adapt and grow his skill set is a testament to his dedication and passion for his work.
Mark Thomas
Project Planner
With a global reach & no-nonsense approach to project planning and delivery which comes from 30 years of construction experience. Mark is an expert in the construction process and how to demonstrate that within a programme of works. His keen eye for detail took him to the construction claims business in Dubai during 2008 and has further led Mark to specialise in change management and programme recovery on a mega scale.
Simon Fagan
Legal Advisor
Simon is a qualified solicitor-advocate who has regularly appeared before the High Court and the County Courts in relation to complex corporate and regulatory matters.
Having qualified in 2001, Simon developed a niche client base, specialising in the representation of companies and directors engaged in litigation and the development of their businesses. He is a founding partner & the head of the litigation department at Aticus Law, supervises a team of experienced litigators and worked for the same Manchester practice for 15 years before leaving to develop his relationships with existing clients.

With more than 15 years of experience in Public Relations initially within the luxury retail sector working for brands such as Gucci and Christian Dior and then moving into the management of multi media campaigns Helen is an expert in creating targeted content for brands.
Communicating Terra Firma Energy’s vision via its various social media channels Helen is responsible for promoting our online presence and increasing the company’s online visibility.
